A space for everyone.
Opened in 2002, The Peggy Corkum Music Room is owned and operated by Scotia Festival of Music, one of Atlantic Canada’s largest presenters of chamber music.
The Music Room was the brainchild of Christopher Wilcox, the Festival’s longtime co-founder and Managing and Artistic Director, who saw the need for a new performance space in Halifax. Designed by local firm Niall Savage Architecture, it was a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Architecture after opening.
In 2017, after a major gift from local philantrophist Peggy Corkum, the space was named in her honour.
